Burcu Buluç, MSc

Born in 1983 in Ankara. After graduating from the Biology department of Gazi University in 2006, she joined the IVF Laboratory of the Private Ankara IVF Center, where she has now worked for more than 20 years.

Training and Certificates

Completed her master’s degree in Histology and Embryology at Gazi University in 2014 and received the Ministry of Health ART Embryology Laboratory Director certificate in 2015. The same year she trained as an observer at IVI Fertility Clinic (Spain) and the McGill University IVF laboratory (Canada). In 2020 she completed the Advanced Good Clinical Practice programme (ICH E6 GCP R2) of the Turkish Association of Clinical Research, approved by the Ministry of Health.

Vitrification and Laboratory Training

In oocyte and embryo cryopreservation she has completed the ORIGIO Vitrification Course (2012, Denmark), the SafeSpeed Ultra-Fast Vitrification method training (2025) and the Kitazato Vitrification Workshop held at the ESHRE Annual Meeting (2025, Paris). She also attended CooperSurgical’s “Optimizing Your Embryo Culture System” training.

Scientific Activity

She received a certificate of appreciation for her scientific contribution to the 7th Congress of the Clinical Embryology Association (2025, Istanbul) and regularly attends ESHRE annual meetings (Geneva 2017, Paris 2025, London 2026 — 18.5 European CME credits). She is a co-author of five articles in peer-reviewed international journals.

Professional Experience

She has worked in our IVF laboratory since 2006 and has been the ART Laboratory Director since 2021. Her expertise covers sperm preparation and morphological assessment, TESA/TESE sample handling, oocyte retrieval and denudation, conventional IVF, ICSI, embryo culture and grading, assisted hatching, day-3 and day-5 embryo biopsy, oocyte and embryo vitrification–warming, and laboratory quality control.
